Description
25 - Whole Indonesian Vanilla Beans - Grade B - moisture 14% +/- 2% Normal length 5.5 to 8". Target weight 2 oz net.Great for making homemade vanilla extract. Chop 20 beans in a bottle of rum for one-year or put your jar in a crock-pot at 140 degrees F and cook for one-week to improve color and speed up extraction. Never heat the extract above 165 degrees F to avoid potential bad things.
Keep bean pods in a sealed container to avoid drying. If beans are too dry, you can rehydrate by putting them in a saucer of water. The beans will reabsorb water up to 115% of their weight. Do not store rehydrated beans because they will mold. If you find white mold, you can simply wipe it off. Green, yellow, or black mold will ruin the flavor and smell of the beans.
